Identifying fraud can be challenging at times. Certain fraudsters impersonate legitimate companies, contacting victims via letters or cold calls, offering nonexistent loan deals. They persuade victims to send money with the false promise of receiving a loan afterward. Stay vigilant against these fraudulent schemes.

The following describes a scam involving impersonation of lenders or credit brokers. Please review the information provided to safeguard yourself against such schemes.

Clone firms

The individuals perpetrating this scheme insist on receiving upfront payments for various “fees or taxes,” often requesting payment through money transfers, online transactions, or cash in exchange for facilitating a loan for you.

These fraudulent individuals have no association with TAL Marketing Group or any of its affiliates. TAL Marketing Group does not mandate upfront payments for loans from its lenders nor does it levy application fees. It’s common for these scammers to mimic legitimate lenders’ licenses or issue counterfeit loan confirmation or approval letters.

  • They request payment upfront.
  • They request a prepaid debit card as payment.
  • They request the transfer of money from you to them.
  • They dispatch deceitful approval or confirmation emails, SMS messages, or letters.
